Mentors

NL: De mentor is de stille kracht achter groei. Niet alleen door kennis te delen, maar door het vertrouwen te schenken dat iemand in zichzelf gelooft. Waar anderen misschien het pad voor je uitzetten, weet de mentor dat het belangrijker is om je de moed te geven het pad zelf te vinden. Soms met strenge woorden, dan weer met zachte steun, maar altijd met het diepe besef dat leren meer is dan alleen feiten; het is ontdekken wie je werkelijk kunt zijn.

De mentor ziet wat je soms zelf nog niet kunt zien: je potentieel, je twijfels, je angsten, maar ook de kracht die in je schuilt. Ze zijn niet degene die je zegt wat je moet doen, maar degene die je leert hoe je het kunt doen, en waarom je het zou moeten doen. Het is in die kleine momenten van inzicht, dat je een beetje meer groeit dan je had gedacht.

Want een mentor is niet alleen een leraar; het is een weerspiegeling van de persoon die je kunt worden. En dat maakt hun aanwezigheid onmisbaar. Het gaat niet om de kennis die ze overdragen, maar om de ruimte die ze creëren om jezelf te ontdekken.

Dit project drukt mijn dank uit, aan de personen die voor mij een mentor zijn geweest en blijven zijn.

While others may lay out the path for you, the mentor knows that it is more important to give you the courage to find the path on your own. Sometimes with stern words, at other times with gentle support, but always with the deep understanding that learning is more than just facts; it is about discovering who you truly can be.

The mentor sees what you sometimes cannot yet see in yourself: your potential, your doubts, your fears, but also the strength that lies within you. They are not the ones who tell you what to do, but the ones who teach you how to do it, and why you should. It is in those small moments of insight that you grow just a little more than you thought possible.

For a mentor is not just a teacher; they are a reflection of the person you can become. And that is what makes their presence indispensable. It is not about the knowledge they transfer, but about the space they create for you to discover yourself.
